The Chinese mainland on Saturday reported 101 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, the National Health Commission said on Sunday. Of the new local infections, 65 were reported in Inner Mongolia, 16 in Jiangsu, nine in Liaoning, eight in Guangdong and three in Yunnan, the commission said in its daily report.Saturday also saw reports of 94 imported COVID-19 cases in 13 provincial-level regions, said the commission.

Six people drowned on Sunday after an electric tricycle fell into a ditch in a village in Lide Town, Qiaocheng District of Bozhou City, east China's Anhui Province, said the local authorities. Further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway, said the provincial emergency management department.

Researchers at China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp, a State-owned defense contractor, have developed and made the world's first robot whale shark. The robotic shark has been on display in an aquarium at Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park in the city's Pudong New Area since January.

Eighty-three old buildings in Sichuan province can now be visited virtually by scanning QR codes, the cultural relics and archaeology research institute in Chengdu, the provincial capital, said. More than 100 historical buildings in Sichuan have been mapped since 2008, with virtual reality data collected for 83 old buildings.
