The Chinese mainland on Monday reported 42 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, all in Fujian Province, the National Health Commission said in its daily report on Tuesday. Also reported were 30 new imported cases, including 12 in Yunnan, six in Shanghai, three each in Jiangsu and Guangdong, and two each in Heilongjiang, Zhejiang and Fujian.

Chinese authorities have tightened regulations over the approval of training institutions that provide online curriculum tutoring services for students.Existing online training institutions should suspend enrollment and charging before receiving operation permits, said a circular issued by the Ministry of Education and five other national organs.

The domestic tourism market has seen a stable recovery over the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, though sporadic COVID-19 outbreaks have brought side effects to the market, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism said.

China has earmarked 22 billion yuan ($3.4 billion) this year to build high-standard farmland for grain production around the country, an official said.That is a year-on-year increase of 33 percent, said Qiu Tianchao, who oversees the rural economy at the National Development and Reform Commission.
