China's index of export container transport went up 13.9 percent month-on-month in June, according to the Shanghai Shipping Exchange.The average China Containerized Freight Index (CCFI) stood at 2,483.6 last month, according to the exchange.

China's economy grew by 7.9 percent in the second quarter of 2021 compared with a year earlier and posted 12.7 percent growth in the first half of the year, the National Bureau of Statistics announced on Thursday.

China's Henan province reported robust foreign-trade growth in the first half of 2021, according to local customs. Henan's total imports and exports hit 365.66 billion yuan (about $56.4 billion) during the January-June period.

China Eastern Airlines' flights from Colombo to Shanghai will be suspended for two weeks by China's civil aviation regulator from July 26.Flight MU232 was suspended after six passengers on another flight, MU714, from Colombo, Sri Lanka, to Kunming in southwest China's Yunnan Province, tested positive for COVID-19 on July 6, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) said today.

The National Development and Reform Commission, China's top economic planner, approved 40 fixed-asset investment projects in the first half of the year.The projects, with a combined investment value of 246.4 billion yuan (about US$38.1 billion), cover areas including energy and water conservation, the commission said.

Four imported coronavirus cases were reported in the city on Sunday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Monday morning. No locally transmitted cases were reported. The first patient is a Chinese working in the United Arab Emirates who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on July 12.
