1. Foreigners Visa Extended 2 Months Amidst Epidemic Control

Foreigners in China for innovation, entrepreneurship and scientific research during the epidemic will have their visa and residence permits automatically extended for two months if their certificates expire during the period. No extension procedure is required, and they can legally stay in China or leave the country during the extended period, according to the National Immigration Administration.
Foreigners who need to come to China for urgent reasons such as investment, a business start-up or trade can apply at their port of entry for a visa or temporary entry permit with invitation letters.
For people involved in medical aid, drug research and development, academic exchanges or other anti-epidemic work, 24-hour, urgent certification service will be provided, according to the administration.
The duration of foreign anti-epidemic workers' residence permits will depend on their work. Applications for Chinese permanent residence will be prioritized for those who have made important contributions to anti-epidemic work.

Urgent processing. First, immigration will comprehensively reduce the time limit for business visa application in Hong Kong and Macao. The second is to provide expedited visa processing for foreigner to attend meetings, negotiate, sign contracts and emergency business, etc., and to complete the visa within 3 working days, especially on the day of emergency.

1. Over 30 pct of China's SMEs resume operation amid epidemic
More than 30 percent of China's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have resumed work and production as the country enhances policy support to make it easier for them to reopen businesses amid the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak.
"We will ensure solid implementation of the supportive policies and promote business resumption with separate approaches based on local epidemic situation," Zhang Kejian, vice minister of industry and information technology.
The country will also help SMEs with supplies of raw material and virus-control equipment and extend the payment deadline for their electricity and gas bills, the ministry said.
2. Resumption rate of coastal ports nationwide has reached over 95%
Everything is under control now after powerful measures have been taken in the past one month. Since last week, ports in China have begun to resume work. Including Ningbo Port, Shanghai Port, Guangzhou Port, etc., the resumption rate of coastal ports nationwide has reached over 95%.
3. More than 60% of enterprises in Guangdong have resumed work
Judging from industrial power consumption, more than 60% of enterprises in Guangdong have resumed work. Other provinces such as Jiangsu, Shandong and Liaoning are also getting back on track.
4. Work Resumption of over 10,000 Industrial Enterprises in Chongqing, Sichuan
As of February 24, total 10,812 industrial enterprises in Chongqing had resumed work, with 739,000 employees, including 4,859 industrial enterprises above designated size with 613,000 employees.
93 of the 100 leading enterprises have resumed work
As of now, 93 of the 100 leading enterprises have resumed work, with a resumption rate of 60.8% for 600 supporting enterprises.
Chongqing’s industrial bellwethers that have resumed production involve complete vehicle enterprises such as Changan Automobile and Changan Ford, electronics enterprises such as Wistron, Yibao, and Inventec, strategic emerging industry enterprises such as BOE and HKC, and equipment manufacturing and big data enterprises such as Cummins, SWA and CloudWalk.
Chen Jinshan, Director of the Chongqing Economy and Informatization Commission, said that Chongqing would comprehensively promote the resumption of work and production in the next step, to realize full resumption.
5. Over 50% of Zhejiang’s industrial enterprises and 20% of its service enterprises above designated size have resumed operation.
All Zones of Yiwu International Trade City have reopened. Train services have been transporting goods from China to Europe, in response to orders from overseas. The government of Guangdong province has issued 20 policies and measures to help enterprises accelerate production resumption, and provide targeted support to ensure employment and reduce burdens.
While resolutely containing COVID-19, many Chinese companies are already getting back to business. Two economically developed provinces, Zhejiang and Guangdong, have taken the lead in resuming production, under the premises of taking precautions and ensuring safety. They have provided valuable experience for other regions.
Zhejiang has created “Index of Enterprise Resumption Rate,” “Five-colored Map of the Epidemic Situation” and “Five-colored Map of Resumption Rate” to comprehensively analyze the epidemic and track the rate at which businesses are resuming work.

7. A total of 3,485 foreign-invested enterprises were newly established
Foreign investors remain optimistic about the Chinese market and it’s expected that post-virus China will still be the best destination for foreign investment.
A total of 3,485 foreign-invested enterprises were newly established. German chemical giant BASF invested $10 billion in Guangdong province to build an integrated petrochemicals plant. Meanwhile, Exxon Mobil’s $10 billion petrochemical projects in Guangdong, and the Tesla electric vehicle project in Shanghai are progressing well.
As of February 23d, 2020, work has resumed on all 251 key provincial and municipal construction projects that had been delayed or halted due to the COVID-19 epidemic. So far, the total number of projects with project value of more than RMB 4 million starting and/or resuming construction in the city reached 880.
