At the third China-Germany High-level Financial Dialogue over the weekend, top leaders from China and Germany have achieved mutual consensus on 25 topics to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.The enhancing economic tie between the two sides has also promoted the development of the new electric vehicle (NEV) sector.

The purchasing managers' index (PMI) for China's manufacturing sector stood at 50.2 in September, bouncing back to the expansion zone, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing showed on Saturday. The manufacturing sector is the foundation of the real economy, and the increase of the PMI in September is an important signal that China's economic recovery is accelerating, said Wu Sa, deputy director of the Economic Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Macro-economic Research.

After a heavy truck pulled in, a pair of robotic arms emerged from the ground to pluck out the battery pack from the vehicle's chassis. A moment later, the robotic arms reemerged with a fully-charged battery pack for installation. This five-minute battery swapping procedure took place at an expressway service area in Fuzhou, southeast China's Fujian Province. It required no human intervention, allowing truck driver Peng Shunqian time to take a short break.

China on Thursday successfully launched a new remote sensing satellite into space from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

A Long March-2D carrier rocket carrying the satellite Yaogan-39 lifted off at 8:24 a.m. (Beijing Time).

The National Day holiday, dubbed "golden week" by the Chinese, normally runs for seven days, but this year it is linked with the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival and extended to eight days, lasting from Sept. 29 to Oct. 6. A longer holiday fuels people's enthusiasm to travel and enables them to engage in various cultural activities.

China's electronic information manufacturing industry reported steady growth in August, with the added value of major firms in the sector up 5.8 percent year on year, official data showed. During the first eight months of the year, the added value of major electronic information manufacturing companies edged up 0.9 percent year on year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
