Apps that engage in internet information services within the territory of China must complete the filing procedures in accordance with laws, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said in a notice.From September 2023 to the end of March 2024, such apps should complete the filing procedures with the provincial communication management bureau where they are located.

Vitesco Technologies saw its electrification business surge in the second quarter this year, mainly thanks to its performance in China and Germany, said the German company on Thursday. Headquartered in Regensburg, it is a leading international provider of modern drive technologies and electrification solutions for sustainable mobility.

China's foreign trade is expected to maintain steady growth despite a challenging external environment, as the country continues to strengthen endogenous impetus and expand multilateral economic and trade relations, experts have said. China's imports and exports expanded 0.4 percent year on year to total 23.55 trillion yuan (about 3.29 trillion U.S. dollars) in the first seven months of 2023, according to the General Administration of Customs (GAC).

China's overall economic growth accelerated in the first half (H1) of this year as its service sector rebounded, and traditional industries achieved upgrades through innovation. In late July, all 31 provincial-level regions of the Chinese mainland published their H1 GDP figures and other key economic indicators. The economic aggregates of 20 regions each exceeded one trillion yuan (about 140 billion U.S. dollars), indicating the robust resurgence and swift recovery of the economy.

With China's latest announcements of policies to stimulate the economy, "there's no doubt" that in the second half and into 2024, there will be an economic rebound, said Sebastian Paredes, head of North Asia of DBS and chairman of DBS(China) Ltd. Despite global concerns about the country's economy in the post-COVID period, Paredes believes the softness in China's performance is temporary.

Huawei Technologies Co said on Friday that it generated 310.9 billion yuan ($42.8 billion) in revenue in the first half of 2023 with a year-on-year increase of 3.1 percent and a net profit margin of 15 percent. Specifically, the company's information and communications technology infrastructure business contributed 167.2 billion yuan, its consumer business 103.5 billion yuan, its cloud business 24.1 billion yuan, its digital power business 24.2 billion yuan, and its intelligent automotive solution business 1 billion yuan.
