China's high-end liquor maker Kweichow Moutai is celebrating a first-place ranking in the Alcoholic Drinks 2022 spirits' list released by British brand evaluation agency Brand Finance. The agency reported Moutai's brand value hit $42.9 billion after evaluating a group of key indicators such as brand's competitiveness, its industry franchise rate and the enterprise's expected business revenue, which made Moutai the most valuable spirits brand in the world.

Three years after China kicked off 5G commercialization, China Broadcasting Network Corp Ltd, or China Broadnet, the country's fourth-largest telecom operator, officially launched its 5G services in June. Industry experts said that the entry of China Broadnet will enrich 5G applications into family scenarios and build a 5G network based on living room-friendly settings and up the ante for 5G competition in the country.

North China's Shanxi province saw its foreign trade surge by 33.8 percent month-on-month to 17.39 billion yuan ($2.58 billion), said customs of the provincial capital Taiyuan. Affected by changing international situations and the epidemic, Shanxi's foreign trade in the first half of the year achieved 91.27 billion yuan, down 19.3 percent year-on-year.

Shanghai has made pioneering progress in its pursuit of all-around development over the past decade, according to a press briefing held Monday. The city's GDP increased from 2.13 trillion yuan (about $314.6 billion) in 2012 to 4.32 trillion yuan in 2021, and its GDP per capita rose from $14,200 to $26,900, said Gong Zheng, mayor of Shanghai.
