Heilongjiang, China's northernmost province, saw its foreign trade in goods grow 34.1 percent year-on-year to 77.77 billion yuan (about $11.5 billion) in the first four months of this year, customs data showed. From January to April, Heilongjiang's imports rose 38.9 percent to 63.73 billion yuan, while its exports grew 15.6 percent to 14.04 billion yuan, according to the Harbin customs in the provincial capital.

China has built nearly 1.6 million 5G base stations at present, constituting the world's largest 5G network, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said on Tuesday. Zhang Yunming, vice-minister of industry and information technology, said China has the world's largest mobile broadband and optical fiber network, and network quality has reached or even surpassed the level of some developed countries.

China will further expand the industry catalog of sectors encouraging foreign investment, according to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on Tuesday. The Catalogue of Encouraged Industries for Foreign Investment (Edition 2022) (Exposure Draft) will add 238 more items, while up to 114 existing ones will be modified with expansion, said an earlier notice issued by NDRC and the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM).

The metropolis of Shanghai announced it had cut off the community transmission of COVID-19 in all its 16 districts on Tuesday. This is encouraging progress for residents to resume normal life and enterprises to give full play to their capacity, although it still needs continuous efforts to secure a final victory against the virus.
