Beijing unveiled regulations for trial implementation on Thursday to provide policy support for the upcoming road tests of autonomous buses, local authorities said. Beijing will allow road tests of its first batch of eight autonomous buses from three tech enterprises -- Baidu, QCraft and SenseTime, according to the Beijing municipal working office of high-level autonomous driving demonstration zone.

Shanghai reported 268 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, 13,086 local asymptomatic infections, three imported patients and two imported asymptomatic infections on Monday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Tuesday morning.

Shanghai residents should continue "staying at home" until all results of the city's COVID-19 screening on Monday are released, a senior city government official said on Tuesday. About 80 percent of the testing has been completed on the nucleic acid samples collected during Shanghai's first citywide COVID-19 screening, according to the government.

The Chinese mainland reported 1,173 new locally transmitted COVID-19 infections on Monday, the National Health Commission said on Tuesday. Of the local confirmed cases reported Monday, 792 were in Jilin, 268 in Shanghai, and 17 in Heilongjiang.

Consumer goods giant Unilever's ice cream brand, Wall's, has unveiled its new "lighthouse factory" in Taicang city, East China's Jiangsu province. The intelligent factory, the world's first "lighthouse factory" in the ice cream industry, adopts smart manufacturing technology of ice cream products that can help reduce carbon emissions and energy and water consumption by 83 percent and 14 percent, respectively, according to the city's bureau of commerce.

China Huarong Asset Management Co Ltd said it has returned to profit in 2021 amid efforts to defuse risks and adjust its business strategy. The State-owned asset management company reported a revenue of 93.1 billion yuan ($14.7 billion) for 2021, up 23.4 percent year-on-year.
