Shanghai reported 438 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, 7,788 local asymptomatic infections and two imported patients on Saturday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Sunday morning.

The Chinese mainland reported 1,455 new locally-transmitted COVID-19 infections on Saturday, the National Health Commission said Sunday. Of the local confirmed cases reported Saturday, 956 were in the northeastern province of Jilin, 438 in Shanghai, and 11 in Zhejiang.

The Shanghai Port is still operating normally and there is no congestion of container ships, the Shanghai International Port Group Co Ltd said in a statement on Sunday. The false coverage of congestion occurring at the port has brought an adverse impact there, the statement said, noting that port data shows that it has been operating in an orderly way and has not seen any congestion of container ships since February.
