AVEVA Inc, a developer of software for industrial companies, vowed to strengthen its presence in China, helping the country decarbonize its energy industry with digital operations, a company official said.

Asia's first cylinder-shaped floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit which was independently designed and fabricated in China – began construction on Wednesday in Qingdao, Shandong province, said its operator China National Offshore Oil Corporation.

Foxconn Technology Group, the world's largest electronics manufacturing contractor and a key supplier of Apple Inc, said on Wednesday it has resumed partial production and operations at its factories in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, after adopting a closed-loop management system for employees there.

The Chinese mainland reported 1,860 new locally transmitted COVID-19 infections over the past day, down from 3,507 on Monday, the National Health Commission said on Wednesday. Of the local cases reported Tuesday, 1,456 were in the northeastern province of Jilin, 75 in east China's Shandong Province, 59 in the southern province of Guangdong, and 51 in Tianjin Municipality that neighbors Beijing.

Guangdong's import of bulk commodities, including grains, crude oil and natural gas, witnessed big growth in the first two months of the year, indicating demand remained strong in the prosperous southern province, according to a statement released by Guangdong Customs on Wednesday.
