Hosted by the Mexican Consulate General in Guangzhou, the state governments of Nuevo León and Guanajuato and VYNMSA company, and co-organized by EAcham and a number of chambers of commerce and China-Mexico promotion organizations, the Mexico Investment Webinar was successfully held Last month on December 17. With the theme of “Economic Benefits Gained by Chinese Enterprises Investing in Mexican Industries”, the event successfully attracted nearly 200 guests including several Chinese governmental agencies and more than 100 Chinese enterprises and went smoothly and fruitfully.

At the beginning of the webinar, Mr. Carlos Giralt Cabrales, the Consul General of the Consulate General of Mexico in Guangzhou, Ms. Anabell Flores, Director of the Foreign Investment Department of Nuevo León Government, and Mr. Alejandro Hernandez Fonseca, Deputy Minister of Investment Promotion of Guanajuato State, respectively contributed to the welcome speeches to promote Mexico’s investment environment and welcome Chinese companies to invest in Mexico. As one of the co-organizers of this event, Ms. Gao Ying, Chairwoman of EAcham, also gave a wonderful speech for the webinar.

This seminar also invited a number of China-Mexico promotion organizations and agencies to focus on introducing Mexico’s investment environment in terms of humanistic environment, geographical location, economic conditions, advantageous industries, investment in industrial parks, etc., so that the Chinese attendees could well understand the advantages and economic benefits of investing in Mexico. In addition, there was an international lawyer who provided legal guidance for company registration in Mexico.

Last but not least, there was a Q&A session at the end of the webinar for interaction and communication between the Mexican and Chineses parts. The Chinese participants had a warm response and actively raised questions one after another, showing strong interest and willingness to learn more about the public facilities services, land prices, labor employment, work visas, and company registration procedures in the relevant Mexican states. The Mexican parts gave detailed answers one by one, and left their contact information for further consultation after the webinar. In the end, the event concluded successfully with a warm applause.

As one of the co-organizers of this event, EAcham is very honored to be part of it and to receive a letter of thanks from the organizers after the event. As a global chamber of commerce, EAcham has been committed to promoting Sino-foreign economic and trade exchanges and cooperation for 18 years, including the Sino-Mexico bilateral collaborations. For example, in 2019, EAcham assisted the Investment Promotion Bureau of Henan Provincial Government in organizing a local business delegation to visit Mexico. And we have Mexican consulates, trade-related organizations and many Mexican companies join EAcham’s events in China in different industries and fields every year. At the meeting, the Chairwoman Gao Ying also extended an invitation to the Mexican state government and consulate officials, hoping to jointly carry out more bilateral cooperation in the future.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2022, we believe that Mexico-China relations have a brighter future. EAcham is ready to contribute to the development of bilateral economic and trade between China and Mexico with joint effort from the governments and people of the two countries!
