China's Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Development Index, based on a survey of 3,000 SMEs, rose 0.2 points from the previous month to 86.3 in November, the latest industry data showed.The increase ended seven straight months of decline, but the current level is still lower than that in the same period of 2020 and 2019, according to the China Association of Small and Medium Enterprises.

The Chinese mainland on Saturday reported 49 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, the National Health Commission said in its daily report on Sunday. Of the new local cases, 38 were reported in Zhejiang, 10 in Inner Mongolia, and one in Heilongjiang, the commission said.

The first plateau 5G base station in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region started to provide 5G services on Thursday. Standing at 3,700 meters above sea level, the 5G base station was built in Xeyidula township, Pishan county, Hotan prefecture, at the foot of the Karakorum Mountains, according to the Communications Administration of Xinjiang.

The world's first COVID-19 vaccine developed by State-owned drugmaker Sinopharm marked the first anniversary of its registration and its launch in the market on Thursday. At the same time, the drugmaker has started research and development of vaccines against the latest COVID-19 variant, Omicron, along with research on the variant's structure, the company said in Beijing.

China's fourth-largest carrier Hainan Airlines announced on Wednesday that it has transferred its core aviation business to Liaoning Fangda Group Industrial Co Ltd, its strategic investor, as the carrier's parent company HNA Group is in the process of going through bankruptcy and restructuring proceedings.

China and 111 other members of the World Trade Organization (WTO) on Friday signed a joint statement on investment facilitation, the Ministry of Commerce said on Saturday. The 112 WTO members, including the EU, Russia and Japan, aim to complete the negotiations on the text concerning investment facilitation by the end of 2022, and push for a final multilateral agreement, the ministry said in a statement on its website.
