2020 EAcham “Trading Eyes” Online Matchmaking Meeting of Garment & Fabric was held successfully on Aug 18, with support from the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Commerce.

It is a great honor to have Damon Giannoccaro, member of the EAcham’s advisory committee, a senior international lecturer from Istituto Marangoni for a webinar talk on How Chinese Garment Manufacturers Open Up Global Market by Building Brand. As a senior brand planner and marketing management expert with over 20 years experience, Mr. Giannoccaro analyzed the strength and weaknesses of the Chinese Garment Manufacturers in the global market, and provided suggestions on how to increase global share by brand marketing especially under the influence of the epidemic. The speech is acclaimed to be encouraging and inspiring.

This meeting attracted nearly 20 professional foreign buyers from 15 countries, including the Cambodian buyer who owns several high-end fashion shops looking for fashionable male and female clothing; the Pakistan big manufacturer for sportswear and supplies who has been imported a large amount of textile raw materials from China every year; the Indian company with nearly 20 years experience in brand marketing looking for new Chinese suppliers for OEM cooperation; the furniture manufacturer from Kazakhstan needs home textile fabrics to match their furniture; and the clothing trader from Sierra Leone intending to purchase 10,000 Polo shirts.

As a traditional pillar industry in Shaanxi Province, Shaanxi's textile industry is well developed, and has cultivated a large number of high-quality professional textile manufacturers. There were some leading enterprises in this meeting, for example, the Shaanxi Xianyang Dukepu Garment Co., Ltd., which owns several independent clothing brands for a wide range of products and has a long-term cooperation with world brands such as Boss, Pierre Cardin, Zara, H&M, Penguin, etc.; the Shaanxi Yuanfeng Textile Technology Research Company, which has 60 years of functional textile research and development history and specializes in the production and development of various safety protection textiles; the Shaanxi Qinyuan Textile Co., Ltd., with several first-class production lines, it has an annual output of more than 8,500 tons of yarns and more than 58 million meters of air-jet fabrics and ranks first in the textile industry in Shaanxi Province for many consecutive years.

Through this fair, direct and effective communication and contact have been established between Chinese companies and overseas buyers.
