On the afternoon of November 16, Expo Dubai “Zhejiang Week-Shaoxing Theme Day” officially kicked off. More than 120 guests from home and abroad witnessed the opening of the "Shaoxing Time" of the Dubai World Expo. European American Chamber of Commerce and Industry invited 11 special guests to participate in this event.

Hosted by the Shaoxing Municipal People’s Government and the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and undertaken by the Shaoxing Municipal Bureau of Commerce and the Shaoxing Municipal Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the event adopted a combination of online and offline, with a focus on characterization, internationalization, and achievement to play the role of the Dubai World Expo world-class display platform, highlighting the characteristics and charm of Shaoxing City. Shaoxing Municipal People's Government Deputy Mayor Shao Quanxuan said in his speech that Dubai is a miracle city of sea and sand, the United Arab Emirates is one of the first countries to join China's Belt and Road Initiative, has become the Belt and Road in the Middle East and North Africa region's primary economic and trade logistics center. Shaoxing, as an important node city of the Belt and Road, is increasingly close to the economic and trade cooperation with the UAE. We hope to explore more and better opportunities for cooperation with the UAE in economic and trade, finance, science and technology, culture and other fields, carry out higher frequency and deeper two-way exchanges, and jointly accelerate the growth of strategic industries and enhance the resilience of the diversified economy. Through the “Zhejiang Week-Shaoxing Theme Day” activities, actively introduce to the world, seeking opportunities for cooperation and development.

Zhang Shankun, vice chairman of Zhejiang Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Zhejiang International Chamber of Commerce, said in his speech that Shaoxing attaches great importance to the exhibition economy and has achieved remarkable results in various international economic and trade exchanges. The "Shaoxing Day" event is an important part of the "Zhejiang Week" activities. Through the "Shaoxing Day" event, Shaoxing's rich cultural heritage, vibrant local economy and excellent business environment are publicized. Today’s "Shaoxing Day" event adopted a combination of online and offline methods, including exchanges with overseas institutions, introduction of investment environment, and inspections of cultural and tourism industries and high-tech industries. The activities are diverse and rich in content. The Shaoxing people’s determination to overcome the epidemic and restore the economy, as well as their wish to make friends and strengthen cooperation. On the morning of November 17,  "Walking into Shaoxing" were launched in Keqiao District, Shaoxing City. Accompanied by Zhejiang Council for the Promotion of International Trade and China Chamber of International Commerce Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce Zhang Shankun, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shaoxing Committee, China Chamber of International Commerce Shaoxing Chamber of Commerce Fu Qingchun, and Keqiao District Commerce Bureau Director Tan Ke, EAcham delegation visited Keqiao District, Shaoxing City, and visited Zhejiang Jinggong Steel Structure Group Co., Ltd. and the Intangible Heritage Museum of Keqiao Ancient Town. Fang Youmei, deputy head of Keqiao District, received the international economic and trade delegation.

During the event, EAcham delegation visited the Jinggong Steel Building Group to understand the corporate culture and exchange the development history of the company. The total area of the Jinggong steel buliding exhibition hall is about 700 square meters. The whole exhibition hall is divided into 10 exhibition areas, which systematically introduced the company’s products, technology and service system from five aspects: the brief history of steel structure development, the product system of the six business sectors of Jinggong steel building, the core competitiveness, the future of human settlements, and the voice of customers.

At the second stop, EAcham delegation visited the new building of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum in Keqiao Ancient Town. Keqiao Ancient Town is an important town along the ancient canal in eastern Zhejiang and one of the first batch of 18 provincial historical and cultural districts in Zhejiang. Keqiao ancient town continues the ancient canal culture, with “three bridges and four waters” and ancient migrating roads as the core, excavating historical and cultural characteristics, and combining traditional architecture with modern urban functions, which has become a a golden name card in Keqiao District and a bright pearl on the ancient canal cultural belt. The new non-heritage museum is located in the scenic area of Keqiao Ancient Town. It serves as a publicity window for the development of cultural undertakings, the heritage base of excellent traditional culture, the comprehensive platform for exhibition and sale, the remodeling of the spiritual home of nostalgia and the identification of the living carrier of local cultural genes” as the display positioning, and the promotion and display of intangible cultural heritage are carried out.

On November 17-19, EAcham organized 50 overseas buyers from the Middle East and South Asia to participate Shaoxing Famous Textile Industry (Middle East/South Asia) online exhibition. We establish a new communication channel between supply and demand, to help companies from both sides to carry out digital marketing and to help companies develop and consolidate markets in the Middle East and South Asia.

The theme of this year's World Expo is "Communicate Thoughts and Create the Future." The main goal is to build a partnership in the 21st century, gather the strength of the international community, look forward to forward-looking technology and technology, promote global cooperation, and create a better future. During the half-year period, 192 countries will showcase their scientific and technological achievements and cultural traditions through a variety of activities, which are expected to attract 25 million visitors. With the theme of "Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind-Innovation and Opportunity", the China Pavilion is one of the largest foreign pavilions. It has 4 "common dreams", "common earth", "common homeland" and "common future". The exhibition area displays China's achievements in aerospace exploration, information technology, modern transportation, artificial intelligence, smart life and other fields, shares China's development concepts and development achievements with the world, promotes the in-depth development of China-Arab comprehensive strategic partnership, and strengthens exchanges and cooperation with countries around the world , to promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
