Chinese online payment clearinghouse NetsUnion and card payment giant China UnionPay reported online payments worth 22.32 trillion yuan (about $3.48 trillion) during this year's Singles' Day shopping spree from Nov 1 to 11, data from the central bank shows.

Nearly 84.4 million children between 3 and 11 have been vaccinated against COVID-19 across China, and over 49.4 million among them have had booster shots, a health official said Saturday. The health authorities will continue to promote vaccination in this age group, Wu Liangyou, an official with the National Health Commission (NHC), said at a press conference.

German carmaker Mercedes-Benz has begun recalling 11,997 S-class vehicles in China over safety concerns, according to China's top quality watchdog.The recall, filed by Mercedes-Benz (China) Automotive Sales Co., involves 755 imported vehicles manufactured between June 9, 2021 and July 6, 2021.

The Cyberspace Administration of China on Sunday issued a set of draft management regulations on protecting Internet data security to solicit opinion from the public. According to the regulations, the country shall establish a category- and class-based data protection system.

China has been proactively advancing the completion and release of a negative list for cross-border trade in services in the pilot free trade zones, the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.
